Back in 1966 the average house price in the UK was just 3,840.
Inside your home, if you actually had access to a television set,
you would be watching programmes in ‘black & white’ from a
choice of just 3 channels. If a TV set was not available you would
probably be enjoying music from groups such as the Beatles,
Monkeys, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones or Simon & Garfunkel.
In the summer of 66 many would argue that one of the greatest
events of England’s history took place. We hosted the football
World Cup, bringing together the best players from all over the
world. England won the tournament by beating Germany in the final
at Wembley Stadium.
At GGI, however, we have an additional reason to remember the
events of 1966. This was the year that Saul Feldberg set out with
just a single chair and the ‘Global’ story began.
